When I was a child, one of my favorite memories would be helping parents in the kitchen on weekends, We started at the farmer’s market, Mom and Dad would hand pick the freshest ingredients that you could still smell the earth from them. I followed them around from the market to the kitchen with everything that I could get my hands on. Still, the sound of the dish sizzling in the wok, the fragrant smell from the cooking, and most memorable moment is the laugh and conversation we shared during the preparation of our weekend’s feast!
That is how I learned cooking, a lot of authentic recipes I have learned from my parents and grandparents, later, traveling around the world gives me another perspective of Cuisine, food brings people together, makes people connected and happy!
Grew up in Beijing, have been living in Europe and the States for over 30 years, taught cooking class at Whisk Carolina for almost 10 years before it closed in July. Looking forward to joining the chefs at The Traveling Café !
