GLP-1 Personal Chef in Chapel Hill and the Triangle
You started Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound or Mounjaro. The appetite went quiet. A few bites in, you are full.
That part is the medication working. The new problem is what is left on the plate. When you can only eat a little, every bite has to carry more, and your clinician gave you a protein target to hit with a much smaller appetite.
Chefs who know this way of eating

The Travelling Cafe is a collective of personal and private chefs in Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh and the Triangle. We cook in our clients’ own kitchens, for households where the way someone eats is not optional. GLP-1 cooking is one of the things our chefs cook most. We put real protein at the center of a small plate, keep it gentle on the days your stomach is unsure, and make a few bites taste like a meal.
We cook the plan your clinician or dietitian set. We don’t diagnose, set targets or give medical advice. You bring the plan. We make it taste like dinner.
What that looks like
- Protein first, built to the target your care team set
- Portions sized for a smaller appetite, with vegetables and good fats that pull their weight
- Lighter preparations for days when nausea is in the room
- One menu for the household, right-sized for the person on the medication and fuller for everyone else
Three ways to work with us
Weekly meal prep. A chef from the collective comes to your kitchen once a week, shops, cooks a week of meals to your plan, labels everything and cleans up. One all-in price. Groceries are included.
Dinner parties. One menu the whole table eats, built so the person following a GLP-1 plan can eat every course alongside their guests.
Private cooking classes. Learn to cook for a GLP-1 plan yourself, hands on, with one of our chefs.
Every dietary need, same price.
How it works
- Tell us how you eat. Fill out our food questionnaire: your plan, other restrictions, and what you love.
- Meet your chef. We match you with a chef from the collective who cooks your plan.
- Open the fridge. Your chef shops, cooks in your kitchen, labels everything and cleans up.

What changes
Without help, the protein target becomes one more thing you are failing at, and meals get skipped because nothing sounds good and nothing is ready.
With a chef in your kitchen each week, the question of what to eat is already answered. The food fits your plan and tastes like something you would choose.
We cook in homes across Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Durham, Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Pittsboro, Hillsborough and Chatham County.

Frequently asked questions
Can a personal chef cook for someone on Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound or Mounjaro?
Yes. Cooking for GLP-1 households is a core part of what The Travelling Cafe does. Our chefs build protein-forward, right-sized meals across many cuisines.
Do you set my protein target?
No. Your clinician or dietitian sets it. We cook to the plan they give you.
What if food is hard to face some days?
Your chef keeps lighter, gentler dishes in the week’s rotation for those days, inside your plan.
Can you cook for a house where only one person is on a GLP-1?
Yes. We cook one menu for everyone, sized down for the person on the medication.
Do you cook in my home?
Yes. Our chefs shop, cook, label and clean up in your own kitchen.
How much does it cost?
Weekly meal prep is one all-in price with groceries included, and every dietary need is the same price. Fill out our food questionnaire and we will send the plan that fits your household.
